 June 11 

 

Math 

 

We continued to discuss 3D objects this week. Some have sides, points and can roll and some objects don't! Ask your child if they can find a sphere, cube, cylinder or cone in your house.   

 

We also revisited Patterns. The children were asked to fill in the missing shape in the pattern and then colour the AB, AAB or ABC pattern. Ask your child if they can see patterns anywhere at home as they are all around us! 

 

Literacy 

 

Lots of rhyming talk this week in our classroom. Children were asked to draw a picture of two rhyming words and then use their knowledge of letters and sounds to hear and record the dominate sound(s) in each word. Have fun practicing rhyming at home.

  June 4     Library     On Monday we had the chance to learn about the Summer Reading Challenge put on by the Calgary Public library.
