Week at a Glance

  December 18   Hi Families,     Letter  Jj   This week we practiced the letter  Jj  in our workbooks and brainstormed words such as jelly beans, jelly fish and jaguar to draw pictures. Ask your child what they drew for the letter  Jj .     Step by Step Drawing   This week we practiced following the teacher to draw a step by step drawing of a Reindeer. Please see the reindeer that your child brought home. To find more step by step drawings you can google 'Easy Art Hub' and many options will come up!     Online Learning Paper Packages     On Wednesday, we sent home the paper packages for online learning.  Our learning will be a combination of Google Meet, Google Classroom and working on the materials in the package.     We are looking forward to seeing all AM Kindergarten at 8:10 AM January 4 on Google Meet, and PM Kindergarten at 11:55 AM.       Have a wonderful Winter Break!     Up Coming Dates   January 4-8 Online Learning using Google Classroom and live teaching through Goog

Food Drive

  Dear Families, Well, our school community has outdone itself and shown incredible generosity in supporting our food drive.  In total we collected 831 food items!!!  This is a tremendous act of kindness. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped our students learn about the positive impact they can have on other people's lives. The Students in Rooms 16 &17

  Dec. 11     Hello Parents,     Here are some of the activities we have been doing in our classroom  this week:     Letter H   -This week we did  the letter H and the 'h' sound.  Ask your child what words we thought of that begin with 'h'.     Traditions     Thank you to everyone for sending in pictures of your family traditions. If you haven't sent a picture yet we would be happy to have your child share this week.       Senses     We had so much fun talking about the 5 Senses of Christmas!  Ask your child some of the ideas we came up with.       At Home Learning Package     We will be sending home  our   At Home Learning Envelope   with the students next week.  This envelope will contain materials to coincide with our Google Classroom activities the week of January 4-8.      Upcoming dates     December 17- Winter Sweater day   December 18- No School   January 4-8 Online Learning using Google Classroom and live teaching through Google Meet   January 8-AM  Kinders

  December 3     Hello Parents,     Here are some of the activities we have been doing in our classroom  this week:     Letter R   -This week we did  the letter R and the 'r' sound.  Ask your child what words we thought of that begin with 'r'.     Music   -In Music we kept the beat with Jingle Bells!  We also learned the actions to 'Up on the Housetop' and did an Animal Sounds Warmup.       Comparing Stories   We read two stories on Wednesday, The Gingerbread Man and The  NinjaBread  Man. The children were asked to recall events of the story that were either the same or different between the stories. We also had them create their own Gingerbread Man in Art.       Traditions   As part of our Social Studies program, we are studying family culture and traditions. Children are invited to find an object that shows something about their family's culture, traditions or interests in their homes and take a photo of the object to send to their teacher.
