Kindergarten LBS Virtual Open House Please click on the link above and look for the Kindergarten Video Letter P This week we focused on the letter "P". We introduced the Story of Polly Panda and demonstrated how to write the letter P by showing the students the sand paper letters as a large group. Students were each given their own workbook to practice the letter in, once finished they were able to draw pictures of things that start with the letter "P". Ask your child what Polly Panda's action is for the letter 'P'. (hint-painting) Math We have been learning how to sort materials into groups by size, shape, color and texture. We also used these materials to create AB repeating patterns. Ask your child what kind of pattern they made. Gym In Gym, we focused on our locomotor skills. Terry Fox Run
Terry Fox Run 2020 We will be having our Annual Terry Fox Run on Thursday, September 24, 2020 . This year the Terry Fox Run is celebrating its 40 th anniversary! Teachers will be discussing with students the life of Terry Fox and the contributions he has made to cancer research. Students can dedicate their run to someone who they know that has been affected by cancer. Please speak to your child prior to our run and if they choose to dedicate their run to someone, they can share this in their class sharing circle prior to or after their run. Hello Families! We have had a wonderful week of school! All students have now received their LBS Montessori T-shirts which have generously been provided by our school council. We are having a School Spirit Day where we all wear our t-shirts next Thursday, September 24 th . We will also be participating in our Annual Terry Fox Run on this day. More information to come! There is an important envelope in your child's backpack. Please complete the forms and send back by Thursday, September 24. If you haven't already sent in indoor shoes, please do soon so we are prepared for when the weather changes. Thank you for continuing to support your child's independence by teaching them to put on masks, coats, and backpacks independently.
