Week at a Glance

 October 2

Hello Families!

A reminder that the all school staff and students are required  to do the  Covid health assessment each day before they come to school.  Please share this assessment with any caregivers that look after your children as well.

Letter O

This week we focused on the letter "0" and the 'ah' sound.  We introduced the story of Ollie Ostrich.  The students were given a lesson on how to write the letter O using sand paper letters.  We practiced writing the letter O in our workbooks and drew pictures of things that started with the letter O.  We put special emphasis on "O" words that started with the 'ah' sound such as Ostrich, Octagon, Olive, Orange and Octopus. On October 1 the students were excited when they realized that October starts with the 'ah' sound as well!  Ask your child what Ollie Ostrich's action is for the letter 'O" (hint says 'say ah")

Orange Shirt Day

On Orange Shirt Day we talked about how children matter.  We had a discussion and students were given the opportunity to share why they matter.

Leaf Crayon Rubbings

Thank you for sending in leaves.  We did some crayon rubbings and practiced using the crayons lightly and keeping the paper still to make a good leaf print!

EYE information letters

We will be starting to do work on our EYE (Early Years Evaluation) Assessments this week.  Here is a letter that explains more about the program.
